The National Science and Engineering Fair (National Science Congress) was held at Bishop Gatimu Ngandu Girls High School in Nyeri County from 16 –19th June 2016. SCLP Samaj School students demonstrated top class scientific skills in innovation and invention to enable them scoop six first position wins out of the 11 categories meaning the other schools shared the other five first positions.
The competition which attracted top winners from the 47 Counties in Kenya grouped into eight regions (Metropolitan, Lake, Mau, Aberdares, Coastal, Nzoia, Highland and Northern) was attended by a mammoth crowd that included top Ministry of Education Officials, University representatives, National Commission Science for Science, Technology and Innovations (NACOSTI), Pan African Chemistry (PACN), Intel Corporation and over 800 students from Public and International schools all over Kenya. SCLP Samaj School took the following awards:- Top School overall with a total of 466 points followed by St Patricks Iten with a total of 174 points, Best mixed school and school with the most entries. SCLP Samaj School have now been Nationals Science Congress Champions for Seven years in a row.
