The 15th International Standards Olympiad was held virtually between 17th -19th November 2020 and brought together 20 teams from China, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Korea, and Kenya. Two teams from SCLP Samaj Senior School represented the country, and the entire African continent at large in the Olympiad that took place at the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS) headquarters, Nairobi.
The competition required participants to write an international standard document on the safety requirements for automated delivery robots and prepare a presentation in a span of seven hours in line with the requirements of the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), which were then judged by the Korean Standards Association, International Electrotechnical Commission, ISO and Korean Agency for Technology and Standards.
The Kenyan teams brought home two precious awards: The Gold Award won by team Viwango Vyetu and the Silver Award won by team Fembots.
Priyen Devraj Pindoria (Team Leader), Ibrahim Kamal Ahmed and Vishal Aggarwal constituted the second team.
